Be Careful What you Pray for!

People say be careful what you wish for, but I don't 'wish' for anything. I pray that God's will be done and I put forth the effort and whatever comes to fruition is perfect, good and sweet! It's definitely not been that smooth for me my whole life. I wish I could say that waiting for the "good part" is easy. I've spent most of my life anticipating when life is suppose to "be perfect", after I graduate high school, after I graduation college, when I finally get married, when I have kids... "Life will be good then!" Yet, during quarantine all those dreams and wishes were put on hold and I was forced to fully feel the present, which I had been ignoring for way too long... and it was so beautiful! I can't believe I had be denying this feeling.
For the first time ever, I've actually allowed myself time to pray and contemplate my "wishes". Monday we said "see ya later" to my roommates Jordan and Stephie. After that I spent probably the first 10 minutes of my holy hour crying. I didn't feel much like actually praying or reading scripture so I read through my old prayer intentions. Then I cried harder... This time they were happy tears. This time last year I did not think that I could ever become who God created me to be. I prayed for help, mercy and ultimately authentic love and friendship. Never did I think that God would have put me in a house full of virtuous women who gave me all that and more!! Here I am y'all... Crying because while I was waiting for "the good part" I was living it all along. How blessed am I to have had something so good that it makes it so difficult to say goodbye. My heart is forever changed.
I dare you to make a prayer journal and write every stinkin' thing down in it! It's so easy for us to get caught up in life and become impatient and angry with God because we think he doesn't hear us! Let me tell you... It was me who wasn't listening all along.
Be careful what you pray for...
Because you just might get it.
